An amazing experience in Lao Cai Province in SAPA (North of Vietnam) delivering 6 buffaloes to 3 families with e-ducare (formerly Fairtour).
After a few hours riding a bike and more than 45 minutes walking into the rice pad fields, we eventually met the families and we had a brief lunch with them.
We came across to these families, that due to the economic situation, were struggling to fulfil even the more basic needs, therefore every family member including elderly and young children had to work in the rice field for surviving. The parents agreed that they would send the children to school, as with buffaloes they could get much more done.
The contrasting beautiful landscape we were immersed in and the conditions inside the house were the exact matches of the mixed feelings all of us had: with joy for giving an opportunity to this family and the many more families we met along the way living in a similar situation. We came back home with a strong commitment to do more.
