• Participation and Engagement Data: Information provided in volunteer application forms, CVs, event registrations, or general inquiries.
• Technical Data: IP addresses, browser types, and device information gathered automatically when visiting our website.

2. Legal Basis and How We Use Your Data

Under the GDPR, we process your personal data under the following lawful bases:

• Processing Donations and Issuing Receipts: Processed under Contractual Necessity or Legitimate Interest to fulfill your donation and issue mandatory financial receipts.
• Charitable Tax Relief (CHY3/CHY4 Forms): Processed under Legal Obligation pursuant to Section 848A and Section 886 of the Taxes Consolidation Act 1997. PPS numbers are encrypted, stored securely, accessed exclusively by authorized Trustees/Officers, and shared solely with Revenue.ie.
• Newsletters and Direct Marketing: Processed under Consent. You may withdraw consent at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in our communications.
• Volunteer and Partner Management: Processed under Legitimate Interest or taking pre-contractual steps to assess applications.
• Website Security and Essential Functionality: Processed under Legitimate Interest to keep our digital services secure and functional.

3. Children’s Privacy

While E-ducare’s charitable mission supports youth education, our website and online donation tools are intended for individuals aged 16 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal data directly from children under 16 without verifiable parental or guardian consent. If you believe we have inadvertently collected data from a child under 16, please contact us immediately so we can remove it.

E-ducare does not actively export or transfer personal data outside the European Economic Area (EEA). However, some third-party software tools we rely on to run our operations (such as global donation processing platforms or email software) may process or back up data on secure servers located outside the EEA.

We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the operational or legal purposes for which it was gathered:

• Tax Relief and Financial Audit Records: Retained for a minimum of 6 years following the relevant tax year to comply with statutory Revenue audit requirements.
