In the middle of a large, remote area in Tanzania, home to 7 Maasai tribes, communities, and families (approx. 20,000 people), children did not have any other option to learn. Working along with TravelIn4Good, a LinkedIn employee’s led initiative we have built, over the past 3 years, Lengiloriti Primary School, and opened its doors on January 14th, 2019. The school consists of 7 classrooms (hosting 560 children) a toilet structure, 1 teachers’ house, and it has been certified by the Government, which is paying for the teachers.
We are now looking for building more teachers’ houses so the government can send the additional teachers, build two dormitories (one for boys and one for girls) so they don’t have to walk 12 km per day each way to get to school. A water infrastructure, so the local community can access to clean and always available water.
